Helplines

There are now three NODA helplines, Legal Helpline,a Media Advice Line and Working with Children. All NODA members can take advantage of any of these helplines, which are free to use and are included as part of your annual subscription.

NODA MEDIA ADVICE LINE  
If you ever find yourself on the receiving end of unexpected media questioning, or simply need to improve the way in which you plan your public relations activity, then you will appreciate the value of the NODA Media Advice Line.
This helpline is being provided for NODA by Axis Media Group (AMG) who team understand the need for confident, but careful handling of the media.
The helpline is available at no cost to NODA members on a freephone number: 0800 032 1127 and is provided 24 hours, seven days a week (yes, including bank holidays and at any time of the day or night).

Furthermore, whereas many operators offer limited consultancy time, AMG are pleased to offer free advice for up to one hour per incident or enquiry.

The NODA members contact is Sabina Kadic, PR Manager with AMG.

Noda Media advice Line includes:
  • A list of questions likely asked by journalists regarding the incident - if they have not already contacted the relevant NODA member
  • Two or three key messages relevant to the incident.This will be produced by the NODA member in consultation with AMG. to be relayed in all media interviews.
  • Advice on what not say or do during particular stages of the incident (this can often be much more effective than producing a list of things to do)

    • Where appropriate, Sabina or one of her colleagues, will advise to issue a holding statement to the media.

    WORKING WITH CHILDREN  
    This email based service is available throughout the year to provide advice and guidance on specific issues relating to working with children.
    This helpline is available at no cost to NODA members. All you have to do is email your enquiry to bronwen@noda.org.uk or call membership services.
    NODA LEGAL HELPLINE  
    The longest established NODA helpline has proved effective in supporting NODA members in a variety of situations that require the advice of a qualified solicitor.
    This helpline is provided for NODA by Sprecher, Grier Halberstam Solicitors who understand amateur theatre and have many years experience of working with clients in the performing arts.
    The helpline is available at no cost to NODA members and is provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
    To access the Legal Helpline, all you have to do is contact Tony Gibbs at NODA on 01733 865790 or email: tony@noda.org.uk or Dale, who will provide you with a unique reference number that then enables you to access this service.

    The person NODA members will speak to will be Keith Arrowsmith or one of his associates at Sprecher, Grier Halberstam .

    NODA Legal Helpline includes advice on a wide range of contractual issues, as well as clarity around copyright and performance related topics and any other subject that would benefit from the advice of a solicitor who understands theatre.
